My First Wedding!

So most of you know that I started my own wedding decorating business. Well, last night (11-11-11) I did my first wedding. We jumped in at the end to help out a kid that Devin works with, so I didn't get to use a lot of my stuff. A professional photographer took some pictures of everything before the reception started. When I get those pictures I will post them. For now, you can just see my pictures that aren't very good. I was dodging people and the lighting was terrible.

The bride chose orange and navy blue for colors and had an Autumn theme going on. I had a lot of fun picking things out and setting them up. I think I am really going to enjoy this. Let me know if you need help with a wedding, or know of anyone who does!
This is an iron arch that we added lights and flowers to. The bride and groom stood in front of it. It was super pretty! This arch has a little gate at the bottom, and would be perfect to welcome people to a garden reception! It would look great with a cake under it too.
The room was dim, so this is more what it looked like while the reception was happening. I have tons of different flowers and garlands that could be added to this to make it unique. I am not super fond of the leaves, but it wasn't my wedding.
This is a lantern (they had a lantern theme) that we used as a card holder. People loved it! The sign in table had a navy blue satin table cloth with the other stuff you see. This lantern can also have an LED candle placed in it to be used as another decoration.
This is the cutest little fountain of a couple stuck in the rain. It added a little romance and ambiance. Love it!
This again, would be perfect for an outdoor wedding. I can control the amount of water, so we could really make it flow outside.
The chairs were covered with sashes tied around them. I was avoiding people in this shot, and this chair had been sat in all night. The bows were great when things first got started! The tables had long white table cloths with elegant satin navy blue overlays. I don't have pictures of them because people were still sitting down when I was taking the pictures. The reception was in a church, so these few simple things really dressed the place up.

I am really looking forward to the next wedding. This last one I had to deal with an aunt (never once met the bride until the night of the wedding) and she was a little bit bossy pants (I know, I know, comes with the territory). I look forward to sitting down with the actual bride to show her what I have for decor, and to exercise my creativity. It is my job to see what the bride wants, show up to the location and have all her dreams ready to go as she arrives for her own reception. Then as she is swept off her feet and taken away by the groom, I come back in and remove all the stuff I set up. I look forward to doing a lot more of these.....
